Boiling Wellness update 11th April

11 April 2016

It was a very wet day today at Boiling Wells so it was a welcome sight to see smoke rising from the chimney and to know the wood burner was warming up the barn.

A quick check on the broad beans we planted showed how well they're still doing.

It was too wet to stay outside, so we retired indoors to cook up a beautiful butternut squash and sage risotto.

The farm had acquired lots of apples from FareShare Southwest, which meant this time we were able to have pudding too! We made up lots of portions of cinnamon apple crumble, to take with us and cook at home.

Gemma, one of our members, showed us how to cross stitch with some brightly coloured thread

She provided inspiration with phrases and quotes relating to well-being, explaining that she found they took on a more personal dimension if she had a role in creating them through cross stitch. Everyone had a go!

So despite the weather we had an excellent day, and when we got home we were able to treat ourselves to pudding!
