Writing Our Newsletter

19 October 2016

Our widely read newsletter is always full of the latest news about Changes Bristol! We run regular articles such as:

Additionally, we list upcoming Changes events as well as public events we think might interest our members. We let our readers know about free or low cost courses they may find helpful and organisations that can offer support with a variety of issues.

As you can imagine, all this takes a lot of work so we really welcome contributions and are happy to accept help! We want our newsletter to reflect our membership and love sharing the experiences and achievements you all have in your recovery journey with the wider community.

How can I help?

You could:

  • Send in photos you are happy for us to publish
  • Send in a quote you particularly like
  • Write about your experiences
  • Talk to us about your experiences so we can write about them (you get to proof read before publication)
  • Write a piece about any issue that interests or affects you
  • Let us know about any upcoming events
  • Write a paragraph about an event you have enjoyed
  • Share your creative endeavours with us
  • Tell us about the positive actions you take to improve your mental health
  • Take part in a group article about mental health on the Secret Facebook Group
  • Review a book, article, CD/DVD, course, app or item you have found helpful and think might help others
  • Encourage other people to contribute and show appreciation when they do

Any contribution, no matter how small, will be always be appreciated and given the next available spot in upcoming issues. Our newsletter volunteer will check the finished content with you before publishing to make sure you are completely happy with how your contribution is presented and you choose what level of anonymity you prefer. You can hand in contributions at meetings, drop them into the office or email to: newsletter@changesbristol.org.uk
