Bristol Crisis Line saved from closure

13 February 2017

Bristol's mental health Crisis Line has been saved from closure due to the overwhelming feedback, a petition and the consultation with the Crisis Line Project Board.

The Project Board overseeing the redevelopment of the crisis line has made the decision to keep the original crisis line number open and implement a call management system. This is pending discussion around the details of the system. The aim of the call management system is to enable people to get the right care in a timely way.

This decision has been made following comprehensive feedback and co-production between commissioners, mental health service providers, service users and carers. This includes members of Bristol Independent Mental Health Network (BIMHN) of which Changes Bristol is a member and Bristol Mental Health’s (BMH) Service User and Carer Council.
