The Royal family and Changes Bristol! What do they have in common?

What’s more exciting than a Bristol snow day? A Bristol snow day topped off with a visit to the city from Prince Harry and Meghan Markle! On February the 1st as thick snow fell across the city, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex braved the weather and visited the Bristol Old Vic theatre, and the charities: Empire Fighting Chance in Easton, and One25 in St Paul’s.

Harry and Meghan, along with Prince William and Kate Middleton spearhead the Heads Together campaign, whose work aims to break down the social stigma surrounding mental health.

It is a cause that is clearly important to the young royals and Harry has spoken openly about his own struggles with mental health. While on his global travels he regularly talks to mental health peer support groups that provide similar support that Changes Bristol does, and agrees that it is:

“Vital for people with experience of mental health problems to speak out and make a difference in their communities”. (Heads Together)

At Changes Bristol we provide peer led mental health support groups across the city that are open to all and free to attend.

“Asking for help was one of the best decisions that I ever made,” Harry said last year. “You will be continually amazed at how life changes for the better.”
